Captain Tiki Bob grew up with saltwater in his veins and a tenacious streak bigger than a blue marlin. At just 13, his grandfather gifted him his first boat – a 16-foot aluminum jon boat with a 5.5 HP Sears and Roebuck motor.
Born in Kitty Hawk, Tiki spent some time up in Virginia Beach but found his way back to his true home: the Outer Banks. He started running offshore charters in 2002, found his way to Teach’s Lair in 2005, and by 2008, he was carving out a name for himself with family fun days and inshore fishing adventures.
His boat, His Fin, is more than just a vessel — it’s a symbol of the faith that’s guided his life. Through ups, downs, and salty seas, Captain Tiki believes in doing right by people, making the best out of what you have, and always following the compass of good character.
Tiki’s connection to the water runs deep. It’s the one place he’s always felt safe, capable, and completely himself — a feeling he now shares with every family who steps aboard. A self-taught reader at 35 who raised his daughter solo, he’s living proof that grit beats luck every single time.
When he’s not helping families reel in snappers and grouper, or trolling for the next big catch, you’ll find him snorkeling secret gems or digging up clams in hidden coves only a true local could find.
